Lots of Pictures

A side street going to the theatre with my host mom in front

a building

A bakery, they're all over the place, it's horrible. The one in the middle is called palmera de chocolate, and it's really good! I get one at school a lot.

This is across the street, and I'm going to see a musical.

You can see the dinky little desks and the plain, ugly walls.

More pictures are coming (I think) but I have to get the bluetooth set up with a cell phone, so we'll see tomorrow. Hope you liked the pictures! Love you all!

It Has No Title...

Hi! Nothing new has been going on, so that's why I haven't been posting anything. Lets see...

I started jogging around the block, so that's been fun. I try to do 5 days a week, and about 1.5 miles each time.

I have been doing so good in Myspace Mobsters! I have, like, 17 million in the bank! I'm so proud of my awesome finacial planning skills!

School is still the same, or maybe a little more boring than it was before.

Tomorrow I have to throw a little party for my class for Halloween. They each (well, most of them) gave me 2 euros and I bought a couple boxes of nerds, 2 packs of kisses, some chips, and they each get a soda. And we're either watching Hocus Pocus, or Transformers, or maybe Iron Man.

And I got my box today! I was so happy! I love everything in there. Except I was a little disappointed that my 17 magazine was so small this month, but at least it was all intact! I love all of the clothes I got, especially the new ones! (the arizona shirt and the red one) And my straightener is amazing, except I still don't know if it will work with the voltage here, and I'm a little scared to try it because I don't want to break it. And I love all of my food! I think that might have been my favorite part! That, and getting Iron Man. And my Abercrombie jacket (the god of all jackets) and my sweats! Finally! Thank you so much everybody!

Some more interesting news, I finally picked my two favorite Spongebob episodes. It's nice to finally know, it's like finding out a bit of myself. I downloaded one of them (Something Smells) so I can watch it when ever. I just can't watch it in the Metro, because I start to smile or laugh, and then people think I'm weird.

And I now have so many good books that I need to read! Brisingr, Inkdeath, Revelations, Specials, and the list goes on and on!

If I think of more later, I'll post it. And I'm going to post the pictures right after, I just have to restart my computer because it's not recognizing the camera.

Bye!!!!

A Long Day

Today was really hectic! I woke up at 6 and school started at 7:50. Then after school, I had 2 hours to kill because I was planning to go to a store with a girl from school right after school, but she wasn't in school today (she was having bad migranes) so she said she would meet me at the school about 4. So I walked up Serrano street, which is a humungous street and part of the shopping district, and bought this really bad sandwich. First of all, the people were really slow, and I was waiting in the wrong line for 5 minutes. And when I finally got my 'toasted bacon and cheese sandwich', it wasn't even really bacon! It was like some weird ham. That was just like thick lunch meat. So I took that out and all that was left was the lettuce and cheese. So that wasn't good. And then after I walked and walked, and then decided to go back in the school direction. So then finally when the girl, Neira, got there, we went on the Metro half-way across town to this Halloween decoration shop to see what we wanted to buy for the 'Halloween-ish party' in a couple weeks. Then after we went to the other side of town and stopped at her house so she could change her shoes. Then we took another really, really slow Metro to the Tase of America store, which has a bunch of food imported. So we get off the Metro, and she doesn't remember where it is, so she calls her dad, and he happens to be in the area. So her dad picked us up and drove us 2 blocks down the street where the store was.

The store (Taste of America) was really fun. And it was really fun and funny to see Neira's reaction to everything. There was a few boxes of Nerds, and she got all amazed because she didn't know that Wonka was a real brand. And then she had only seen marshmellows in the movies. And she was really, really fascinated by the sprinkes (like for a cake). And then she just about died when we got to the fridge with all of the different sodas in it. Here, there is only, I repeat ONLY, coke, pepsi, and sometimes sprite. But in this store they had root beer, mountin dew, all the different types of coke and pepsi (like cherry, vanilla, ...) grape soda and a bunch more. It was really cute, she kept saying how it felt like she was in a movie! lol

So I ended up getting back home at 9pm! And it's another early morning tomorrow, so good night!!!

Pictures from other people that I now have from the last month

These are all of the American exchange students in the Madrid area.

(And this is the only one I can get to work now, but I'll try later)

El Escorial and the Field Trip

I still don't have the pictures from El Escorial last weekend... because they're on a camera phone... because I forgot to take my phone! I know! I couldn't believe it either!!! But I will get them.

First, we stopped at Valle de los Caidos which is where Franco is buried. It's just outside of Madrid and it was really cool, the building he had built was huge and has a bunch of statues and pretty doors. Then we drove a few more minutes to El Escorial, which was neat, but not very memorable. I'm having trouble remembering what it was all about.... Oh yes, it's where a bunch of the kings of spain have lived from like, 1500 to 1700. It was cool to see all of the original stuff. They had all of the original furniture in the bedrooms and some of the original floor was still walk-on-able. The tour was kinda long though, and I was really hungery and thirsty.

Afterward, we ate at a cafe that was kind of in the woods. It was nice to get out and go see something, and some of the history was very interesting, but... not too much to write home about.

Today our class took a field trip to the Museum of Prado. How boring! We had to walk there, first of all, so it took us like, 25 minutes walking, then we stood in the museum for 1.5 hours. And then walked back. My back hurt! And there wasn't anything spectacular in the museum. And the overall interior decorating left something to be desired. But at least I got out of PE, history (kind of, our history teacher took us), and english.

I love you guys so much! I hope I have something more exciting to write about next time. Bye!!!
